Before and after

Composite Veneers

Painful teeth and dark stains from tooth decay were keeping our patient from smiling. After reviewing our options, and emphasizing a new home care strategy to prevent new cavities (we call two-way-toothbrushing), we designed a new plan. Dr. Chris Nelson removed the tooth decay carefully, and hand-layered composite filling material to create composite veneers (aka large fillings) to rebuild the teeth. These teeth may need future treatment (like crowns), but for the foreseeable future these teeth are doing fantastic. And more importantly our patient is SO HAPPY! #reddingdentist #compositeveneers #beforeandafter instagram: @nelsonfamily.dental

Smile Design

The first photo sets the scene for this dramatic before and after. Their teeth had worn down over the years, and multiple different shades of white were visible from mismatched fillings and crowns over the years. At a routine visit, Dr. Chris Nelson asked our patient: “what if we did a “smile design?” After explaining that the smile design process is a way to simulate the final result of doing crowns, veneers, or fillings (think of it like a makeover preview). The patient was excited to see what was possible, and after the process was over you can see just how awesome it turned out. Our patient was able to go to a family reunion with a big beautiful restored smile and renewed confidence! #reddingdentist #crowns #smiledesign #dentist #beforeandafter instagram @nelsonfamily.dental

New Crowns

If you met this patient you would understand quickly that smiling is very important to them. And over the years their aging veneers and other dental work did not align with their bubbly personality and smiley nature! That had to be fixed. If you look closely at the before, one of the challenges was that the sizing of the teeth / relative proportions were off a bit. So not only did we need to improve the color, and brightness, but we had to change the teeth to show the proper proportions too! Working with our fantastic lab technician we made custom temporary crowns, before finalizing the design in this dramatic and natural result. Our patient was so happy to have their teeth ready for smiling every day! #customtemporary #handmaid #dentistry #reddingdentist #reddingcalifornia instagram: @nelsonfamily.dental
